North Star completes ISO 45001:2018 monitoring assessment from BSI

The Occupational Health and Safety System according to international standard ISO 45001:2018 has been continuously upgraded by North Star from BS OHSAS 18001:2007 since 2018. After nearly 10 years of development, application and continuous improvement. North Star is always certified by the leading prestigious organization in the world for management system standard, BSI - British Standards Institute and highly appreciated by major investors and general contractors from Japan, USA, Europe, Korea and Vietnam for the performance of the system at the office and construction sites.

In mid-July 2022, North Star completed the program of periodic monitoring and assessment for the ISO 45001:2018 system, including Civil and industrial construction, mechanical processing and installation of systems engineering systems in civil and industrial works. The above monitoring and assessment program is implemented by reputable assessors who have many years of experience of BSI through assessing the performance of the OHS system at the Office and Construction sites. The experts gave a detailed assessment of each standard by the standard review, the standard sampling, the random sampling, the interview, the observation field, and so on. North Star has met all set objectives and targets, applied quality policy, identified hazards, assessed risks and opportunities, and fully met legal and other requirements, carried out training procedures - emergency response - employee consultation in a scientific and open manner, and strictly complied with actions on operational control at work, ensure available resources under management, effectively implemented recommendations for improvement… The assessment for North Star showed no major and minor non-conformities with 2 recommendations and 2 opportunities for improvement of the management system which is highly effective.

After the end of assessment with the presence of the Board of Directors, the Safety Committee, and the Site Management Committee, the BSI’s assessors highly appreciated the effectiveness of occupational health and safety management of North Star. The Board of Directors also gave thanks to the assessors for being fair during the entire assessment, and to the Safety committee - the Site management committee together with the entire staff, engineers, workers and contractors for their efforts to properly implement the safety policy – and the Board of Directors wishes to receive more suggestions for improvement to ensure that workers are always protected for both physical and mental health.
