North Star focuses on and expands the development of the BIM division after anticipating the trend of digital transformation and modeling in the sector of construction

Building information modeling (BIM) – an inevitable trend of the construction sector in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. BIM was developed in the 70s in the US and the 2010s in Vietnam.

In anticipation of the trend, since 2013, the management board of North Star has planned the development and carried out research of BIM and practical applications in design consultancy, construction and installation for infrastructures, supply of resources and facilities as hardware, software, and arrangement of training in order to quickly put BIM division into operation to implement requirements for North Star projects.

By 2018, the BIM division was developed at the Department of Technical Planning to meet the requirements on construction methods at the construction site. In parallel with the application of Autodesk Revit, NS also organized training courses on the application of Cad Dewa for key projects.

At the beginning of 2021, the Ministry of Construction issued Decision No. 348/QD-BXD on General Guidelines for applying the Building Information Modeling (BIM), which demonstrates the essentiality of BIM.

With a long-term orientation, the management board of North Star has accelerated expansion of the BIM division at the Department of Design - Price, with a supplement of five employees to develop a comprehensive design and consultancy system. At the same time, it has also carried out intensive training on BIM for the Department of Planning - Engineering under the Project Division to improve the capacity of BIM application in the course of construction management.
