Soluble Coffee project entered the final stage of completion

In the second quarter of 2020, on Land lot J7, D1 street at Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province – a “Soluble Coffee” instant coffee factory of the multinational Marubeni Corporation from Japan was officially launched. A year later, a massive and large-scale instant coffee factory with the leading technology chain in Southeast Asia was built on an area of 31,349.68 m2.

With the trend of shifting the US-Japan trade balance to emerging economies, Vietnam is considered as an appropriate choice thanks to an open economy, the need for international integration, stable socio-political conditions, good preferential policies for investors, abundant labor force, and strategic geopolitical position for trade. All of the advantages mentioned above are the reason for foreign investors to invest in Vietnam, despite the significant impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide from the end of 2019 until now.

With a global brand value, Marubeni Corporation has invested nearly 120 million USD in the construction of an instant coffee factory named “Soluble Coffee” which marked a key milestone for North Star in approaching and exploiting the traditional Japanese market and the vibrant market in Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

From the early days of implementation, Mr. Ngo Pham Duy – Project Director has clearly stated the key missions of the project as follows:

• Determine this is a key project of North Star under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
• In terms of resources: Priority is given to experienced engineers and contractors with a high-quality labor force.
• In terms of quality: Apply the Quality management system according to international standards ISO 9001:2015.
• In terms of safety: Apply the Occupational Safety and Health management system according to international standards ISO 45001:2018.
• Regarding anti-epidemic conditions: Apply the anti-epidemic plans according to the instructions of the Internal Board of Supervisors, the guidance of the Ministry of Health, at the same time invest in resources to carry out periodic tests for employees and make plans for on-site production and business.
• Regarding the schedule management: Manage the progress on a weekly/monthly basis and make clear reports on practice; quickly organize the management of drawings, construction methods, safety measures, and documents; periodically organize meetings with stakeholders.
• Regarding the construction and acceptance: Carry out the construction and acceptance plan as scheduled …

Under the command of the Site Management Board, all officers/engineers/contractors and installation workers have made unremitting efforts, devoted themselves, showed enthusiasm on technique and quality, the highest consciousness on occupational safety, which were the basis for many important milestones to completion on set schedule.

The entire construction and installation items have been completed with 100% of the workload. The final remaining items that are being currently implemented, are “T&C” items.

Accordingly, another project is about to be handed over to the Customer, engineers have one more milestone in their construction diary, a new construction song will be played again, and a new construction site is about to completed.
